U13s Winners of the Ayr Cup 2010
The 13s win the Ayr Cup at the 33rd Ayr International Youth Football Tournament.
Following our performances on Saturday the U13′s found themselves out of the reckoning for the Scotland Cup at the Ayr International Youth Football Tournament. However on Sunday, and thanks to much better performances, they beat Ballymoor BC from Northern Ireland 5 – 2 in the Semi Final of the Ayr Cup and were into the Ayr Cup final (4th Cup Final of the year) against Cookstown Youth.
Boswell raced to a 3-0 lead scoring 3 goals in the first 10 minutes (Houston 2 and Croke) but let Cookstown back into the game by conceding a silly penalty for hand ball. This gave the Irish team some confidence and they soon scored a second to get it back to 3-2. Boswell had stopped playing and it wasn’t long before the Irish come back was complete as they equalised just before half-time 3-3.
In the second half the boys continued to press and won a penalty which Forwell converted to go back in front 4-3 and should have added more but Henderson put his shot just wide of the post. The boys hung onto their lead and finally, in their last competitive game of the year, won the Ayr Cup.
Ayr Cup Final, Final Score – Ayr Boswell 4 Cookstown Youth 3 ( Houston 2, Croke, Forwell)
The U13′s Scotland Cup was won by Tass Thistle who won 4-2 against Petershill BC at Dam Park on the Monday. The Boswell U14′s, U15′s and U17′s also reached their respective Finals, well done guys.
